Take THAT, Pub!

I really should take more shots at Chartwells. The Pub sucks, but at least it isn't infused with that malevolent sense of *EVIL* that Chartwells has. You know, Whistler prices, Gulag atmosphere, customer service from the fifth circle of hell ("The Wrathful And Sullen")
…. But the Pub just started closing at 7:00 each night and closing permanently during test-takin' times. That's when we need alcohol the most!

On Being Frantic

Ah, yesterday, I managed to pull off the X-Men Day and the Humour Page, and considering the amount of frantic speed I had going during the day, it was pretty hitch free.
Except for the following:
1. Forgot to add Dan to the ticket list and thusly buy tickets for him.
2. Humour page looks odd in places. I say, you can’t have straight lines around the comics if the contributors don’t draw ‘em that way!
3. The television and DVD were unguarded for at least 15 minutes. Theft = MY DEATH.

If you’re wondering, the X-Men Day was a showing of both X-Men and X2 in the ASB Atrium, followed by a ROAD TRIP! to see X3 in theatres on it’s premiere night.
We’ll be doing the same thing with Pixar movies when Cars comes out! (In 2 weeks? I think?)

I really feel energized. Having it all done at the end of the day, plus the 12+ hours of sleep I got.. like a million bucks, I feel!

The Executive Retreat: With Pictures!

So, on Friday.. uh.. last Friday. The Friday before the Friday that was yesterday.. I showed The Godfather, lost $20 of CSSS money by overpurchasing pizza (I learned my lesson, I promise!), and then embarked on a quest to Whistler.

There was a bus, and magazines (I have a Nintendo Power magazine that's a good 13-14 years old, and a similarly old Computer Strategy magazine. It has a preview for Dune 2! That's how old it is!)

So, we arrived at Whistler.. quickly, forming "Team Food" and "Team Alcohol". Unfortunately, everybody wanted to be on Team Alcohol.. so, everybody was on Team Alcohol.

Go team hard liquor! That's Anto, there, our new Vice President of Organizationality .. which basically means that he is the Vice President- his job is to assist the President.

This is what we so eloquently dubbed, "The Beeramid".

Being that me, Michele, Anto, and Tadashi were all n00bs, we had to wear the Inky, Blinky, Pinky, and Clyde costumes (The ghosts from Pac-Man).
I went "Clyde", but Jen, as President, decreed that I would be Pinky.

Yep, I'm nothin' but sexy. So that's Tadashi, our treasurer, Me, our Vice-President of Activities, Marcel, our Vice President of Resources and Awesomeness, and Michele, our.. Treasurer. .. see, Tadashi's only an interim Treasurer, because Michelle (one L or 2?) is away this semester.

So, we settled in, wandered through Whistler Village a bit, then came home and played a rousing round of the Chairman's Game.

Freshman rules, of course. Penalty? Drink.

There was much drinking, and then going to bed. The next morning? A whole day of planning and boring meeting stuff. Also? Hot tubbing, and a bear! OMG, BEARS!

So, we went out pubbing. There was something on the menu called 'sex cheese', and they wouldn't tell us what it was. So we had to order it. Mmm, cheese and wine-sauce. Fried. So .. healthy.

Oh, and we were still wearing our ghost costumes.

The captain was here.

So, morning two, Marcel and Noah take on the task of finishing the milk.

So, this is all of us, Jen, Travis, Yang, Marcel, Anto, Noah, Me, Alix, Eugene, Tadashi, Michelle, and Trevor.

We came home early in the morning, after about 3 hours of sleep. I was tired. When I got home, there was a big mother's day celebration.
So, that was the retreat, in not-a-lot-of words. Yay!

Oh, ye gads, I am busy. I have to…

1. Order pizza from Mt. Athos for tomorrow
2. Organize X-Men 3 movie-showing, buy tickets, determine how much of a discount we can give. (Ask CSSS for money. $50?)
3. Create a Monty Python Quiz Game for tomorrow.
4. Turn 3 cans of SPAM(tm) that I bought, some chocolate, and an energy drink into a Monty Python Grand Prize
4.5. Tomorrow, run the Monty Python Pizza & Movie, and then Monty Python Quiz Bowl
5. Organize a Froshweek subcommittee meeting.
6. Keep up with the One-Laptop-Per-Child group.
7. E-mail Heather about the FAS barbeque coming up – I want full CSSS support, here!
8. Pick up the Peak & CSSS Backroom keys
9. Work with Nick to get some activities at Surrey
10. Work with Steve Anas and the Surrey-Academic-Computing-Services to produce a Surrey LAN Party.
11. Help Kim put up a site for the McBeighns.
12. Actually do some of my homework. 

Whistler! Yay!

This Friday, I'm packin' up and movin' on to Whistla'! 3 days of 'Executive Retreat'ing. Joy!
